COVID-19 UPDATE (04/23/21)

Update for Manual Osteopathic Practices as of April 23, 2021

Members Bulletin with regard to COVID 19

Follow up to Bulletin from April 22, 2021.

April 23, 2021 @ 2:30 pm

Dear Members

Since yesterday at 3:30 pm your Executive and Board of Directors has been “on it” and “working on this situation”, we appreciate all your comments, feedback and suggestions.

We have great news! Dept. of Labor and Advance Education under the directive of Public Health has reversed their decision:  Effective Immediately, those in the HRM and affected surrounding areas can return to work/practicing.

“Regulated health professions such as dental and physiotherapy and unregulated health professions such as massage therapy and other complementary or alternative medicine providers can remain open as long as they follow the prevention plan for their sector”.

As we told you in the bulletin yesterday, we were in touch with Don Hartt at the Department of Labor and Advanced Education.  He looked into this matter for us, and no doubt other associations.

We urge all members to:

  • follow public health guidelines, including limiting your contacts, hand hygiene, masking, cleaning regiments and strict social distancing
  • consider asymptomatic testing
  • consider vaccination
  • remain vigilant by strictly following the NSAO Re-opening Plan
  • You all need to monitor this situation closely, there may be times over the next few weeks.  You may decide to close, limit clients or other options that are best for you, your clinic, your patients and the greater community.

Please reach out to each other for support.

To quote Dr. Robert Strang:  Lock arms and fight off this virus.
